Freedom project

The Freedom Programme is for women who have experienced domestic abuse in the past or who are currently in an abusive relationship.

A 12-week rolling programme, it is designed to:

  • Help women understand the beliefs held by abusive men and in doing so recognise which of these beliefs they share.
  • Help women develop self-esteem and build the confidence they need to improve the quality of their lives.
  • Help women understand the effects of domestic abuse on children.
  • Help women recognise potential abusers.
  • Help women access community resources.

Crèche places are available but must be booked in advance.

I’m worried about a friend
I Need Help
Since Freedom I have got the guts to leave my boyfriend after years of violence.
I understand why I put up with the abuse and I won’t do it again.
Brilliant. I feel great and have met lots of other women who have been in the same position.

If you or someone you know is affected by domestic abuse, Crossroads Derbyshire offers confidential advice and support in Glossop, the High Peak and the North Dales. If you need our help, or know someone who does, call us on 0800 0198 668.
